Clean Water Infrastructure Act

Clean water — for drinking, fishing, swimming, and boating — is a human right.

What’s at stake?

Scenic Hudson joins with the New York Clean Water Coalition in asking for $600 million for clean water infrastructure. We request funding category allocations lined out in the budget to help ensure all clean water needs are being met, including the line for lead service line replacement. We also urge the Governor and Legislature to require that a minimum of 35% of Clean Water Infrastructure Act funding go to disadvantaged communities in the FY 2025-26 state budget.

New York communities need at least $80 billion in funding to update water infrastructure, remove toxins from their drinking water, and address the impacts of climate change. A $600 million allocation in this year’s budget will enable New York State to tackle both longstanding and emerging threats to clean water across the state.
