Why we love it

It’s hard to imagine packing more fun and educational activities into 33 acres of scenic beauty. A playground offers nature-themed slides, swings and treehouses, while a recreated Native American village brings to life the region’s earliest inhabitants. Animals on view range from the barnyard variety to birds of prey and butterflies. And two demonstration gardens — one growing organic vegetables, the other a native plant meadow — provide opportunities to teach children about the importance of good environmental stewardship. Any energy left they can expend running around a spacious lawn.
