An ardent environmentalist who pursues a conservationist agenda through his work at the Krupp Foundation and Scenic Hudson, Richard is managing partner of Pierpoint Capital, a firm he co-founded to invest in differentiated healthcare technology and advanced manufacturing businesses. He and his wife and three children live in New York City and spend weekends and summers at their home in the Hudson Valley.
Under Richard’s leadership, Scenic Hudson keeps building upon its mission to “sustain and enhance the Hudson Valley’s inspirational beauty and health for generations to come.”
• Providing another place for people to enjoy recreation, have fun, and come together, we partnered to create magnificent Sojourner Truth State Park in Kingston.
• Responding to the increasing urgency to address climate change and environmental inequity, we launched a multi-year Climate and Environmental Justice Initiative.
• Halting the threat of increased air pollution and climate-warming emissions, we’re spearheading the campaign to stop construction of the fracked gas Danskammer power plant.
• Strengthening our commitment to ensure all people benefit from our work, in the valley’s River Cities we’ve collaborated to create urban farms, restore parks, and envision new trails.
