Marjorie L. Hart

Scenic Hudson Board Member / Former Chair

Marjorie started a 30-year career with ExxonMobil as a chemical engineer in refinery process research, and later moved into corporate positions in energy economics, supply planning, and marketing. She was the first professional woman to be sent overseas with assignments in Tokyo and London, and first in the corporate executive dining room. Since retiring, she has done consulting in a number of fields including new emission control technologies for diesel engines and power plants, natural gas supply for the northeast utility market, angel investment in biomass conversion technology, and governance and administration for a not-for-profit. Marjorie is a former Chair of Scenic Hudson, Inc. and served for many years on the Board of Directors of the New York League of Conservation Voters, and she is on the President’s Council of the Land Trust Alliance. She serves on the Board of the Park Avenue Armory (former Vice Chair), is a lifetime Presidential Councillor and former trustee of Cornell University, and is an emeritus trustee of Teachers College Columbia University and past Chair of the New York YWCA’s Academy of Women Achievers.
