Planting Turtle Sprouts

Event Date:
Tuesday, April 11, 2017 -
3:00pm to 5:00pm

Scenic Hudson’s River Center will be transformed into a science museum with exhibits and specimens encouraging children and families to take a closer look at the natural world. We’ll also offer a host of farm and garden inspired activities that combine arts and crafts with hands-on learning.

Plant? Animal? Actually, a turtle sprout is a little of both—and offers a great introduction to growing plants. Decorate a “turtle” whose shell is filled with soil and grass seeds. Take it home, care for it—and watch your turtle sprout!

Programs are free and all supplies will be provided. The programs are geared for children in kindergarten through 8th grade. Parents are requested to stay with their children.

Help ensure we have enough supplies, RSVP to Scenic Hudson Education Outreach Assistant Steven Naukam: snaukam@scenichudson.org, 845-473-4440, ext. 265.

If you are planning to attend and you haven't already, please RSVP to snaukam@scenichudson.org and include 1. Your name 2. How many children you will be bringing 3. Any and all days you are planning to attend this week. We are having a great response and can only ensure we have supplies available for those who RSVP directly to us by 11:00 the day of the program.
